Safety and Burning Tips

To ensure you get the maximum results from your Dream Wax Melts products whilst maintaining safety at all times please follow these simple but effective user instructions.

Candles

Burn with safety

Always burn your candle on a level heat resistant surface and away from flammable objects and other sources of heat and draughts.

Keep candles away from children and pets and never leave a candle unattended whilst lit. Always leave a minimum of 10cm between any burning candles.

Never handle a candle whilst in use. Wait until the wax has cooled and hardened before moving.

Don’t drop matches or other debris into the wax.

Candle Performance

For maximum results burn your candle for 2-4 hours at a time. After this period, allow the wax to cool and solidify before re-lighting. This helps to maintain the life of your candle giving you a full and consistent fragrance throw throughout burning.

Trim the wick

Keep your wick trimmed to 3-5mm at all times. This also applies to the first time you light your candle. Trim your wick before each burn. Ensure that any wick trimmings are removed before lighting the candle.

Lighting and extinguishing the candle

Use a long-barrelled gas lighter where possible as they do not leave any residue which matches can and it is easier to ignite the wicks as the wax reduces, down the candle jar.

Let the wax pool

Each time you burn your candle allow the entire top layer to become a pool of liquid wax. This creates the best fragrance throw available, keeps your wicks burning with a consistent flame and helps to avoid tunnelling (wax residue left at the sides of a candle jar). It is the melted pool of wax that creates the fragrance throw, which is why two wicks are often better than one.

Know when to say goodbye

We never like to see the end of our favourite fragrance, but once your candle wax is 1cm from the bottom of the jar you should no longer use it. Time to find a new favourite.

Wax Melts

Wax melts should only be used in appropriate wax melt burners. Add one piece of the snap bar at a time or break your wax melt pot into smaller pieces until the required melted wax fill is reached. Do not overfill the wax melt burner initially as the wax will spill over. If wax remains in the burner bowl after use and you wish to remove it, wait until the wax cools and hardens, then apply a small amount of gentle pressure on one end of the wax until it pops out. Do not use metal or sharp objects to clean out wax as this may crack or damage the burner or cause injury.

Wax Melt Burner (non-electrical)

Failure to follow these instructions could result in a fire hazard. Use only with good quality wax melts. Not intended for use with fragranced warming oil or potpourri refresher oil.

Never leave a burning candle unattended or move it when lit.Remove all packaging before use.Only use with a good quality tea-light. Do not use with a maxi tea-light, votive or other candles.Keep the Wax Melt Burner and tea-light out of the reach of children and pets.Do not burn the tea-light or leave the wax melt burner on or near anything that can catch fire.Ensure the wax melt burner is well ventilated. There must be at least 6.5cm of space above the flame within the wax melt burner.Keep foreign objects out of the wax pool. The wax melt burner becomes very hot during use, do not touch or move whilst alight or whilst wax remains molten.Extinguish the tea-light if the flame becomes enlarged, makes contact with the wax melt burner, or begins to smoke.Use a candle snuffer to extinguish the flame. Once extinguished allow wax melt burner to cool before moving.

Direction for Use

Place the wax melt burner on a level, flat, cool, heat-resistant surface away from draughts, other heat sources and flammable objects. If used on a non-heat resistant surface damage may occur if the wax melt burner is used without a protective plate, tray or similar product.Position the wax melt segment on the top bowl of the wax melt burner.Insert a tea-light in the bottom base of the wax melt burner.Allow the heat of the tea-light to melt the wax and fragrance will release into the room. The wax melt burner will become hot while in use, do not touch while in use, heated wax can cause burns. Allow the burner to cool completely before touching or moving.Do not allow the pool of wax to completely evaporate so the top bowl becomes dry whilst a tea-light is still lit. This could cause the wax melt burner to scorch and (or) smoke. If wax remains in the bowl after use and you wish to remove the wax, wait until the wax cools and hardens, light a tealight underneath for 30 seconds and gently pop the old wax out before replacing with a new melt. DO NOT USE METAL OBJECTS TO CLEAN OUT THE WAX. DO NOT APPLY EXCESSIVE PRESSURE WHEN CLEANING OR REMOVING WAX. THIS MAY CRACK AND DAMAGE THE BURNER. DO NOT PLACE THE BURNER IN A FREEZER.WAX MELT BURNERS BECOME HOT DURING USE. ONLY USE ON A HEAT RESISTANT SURFACE. IF UNSURE USE A PROTECTIVE PLATE, TRAY OR SIMILAR PRODUCT.

Electric Wax Melt Burner

Failure to follow these instructions could result in a fire hazard. Use only with good quality wax melts. Not intended for use with fragranced warming oil or potpourri refresher oil.

Never leave an electric wax melt burner unattended whilst in use.Remove all packaging before use.Keep the electric wax melt burner out of the reach of children and pets.Do not leave the electric wax melt burner on or near anything that can catch fire.Ensure the electric wax melt burner is well ventilated. Keep foreign objects out of the wax pool. The electric wax melt burner becomes very hot during use, do not touch or move whilst turned on or whilst wax remains molten.

Direction for Use

Place the electric wax melt burner on a level, flat, cool, heat-resistant surface away from other heat sources and flammable objects. If used on a non-heat resistant surface damage may occur if the electric wax melt burner is used without a protective plate, tray or similar product.Position the wax melt segment on the top bowl of the wax melt burner.Plug in the electric wax melt burner and switch it on.Allow the heat of the bulb to melt the wax and fragrance will release into the room. The electric wax melt burner will become hot while in use, do not touch while in use, heated wax can cause burns. Allow the burner to cool completely before touching or moving.Do not allow the pool of wax to completely evaporate so the top bowl becomes dry whilst the electric wax melt burner is switched on. This could cause the electric wax melt burner to scorch.Switch off the electric wax melt burner and unplug from the mains when not in use.If wax remains in the bowl after use and you wish to remove the wax, wait until the wax cools and hardens, then whilst using protective gloves apply a small amount of gentle pressure on one end of the wax to pop the wax out.Let the electric wax melt burner completely cool before re-use.DO NOT USE METAL OBJECTS TO CLEAN OUT THE WAX. DO NOT APPLY EXCESSIVE PRESSURE WHEN CLEANING OR REMOVING WAX. THIS MAY CRACK AND DAMAGE THE BURNER. DO NOT PLACE THE BURNER IN A FREEZER.ELECTRIC WAX MELT BURNERS BECOME HOT DURING USE. ONLY USE ON A HEAT RESISTANT SURFACE. IF UNSURE USE A PROTECTIVE PLATE, TRAY OR SIMILAR PRODUCT.
